Tuesday Morning Beat- “L&J Ranch Gila River Project: Land-use and sense-of-place.
today18 October 2024
Joel Slayton of L&J Ranch discusses the “Gila River Project: Land-use and sense-of-place” an art and research venture, with partner Lisa Johanson. The project merges art and science in an exploration of the unique Gila River ecosystems, the river’s complex interactions and relationships with natural and artificial elements, ‘place’ and the life it enables. The project invites us to understand river ecology, and our responsibility to ensure a sustainable future through the lens of an Eco- plastic model.
Joel and Lisa’s exhibit was displayed at Seed-Boat Gallery, Silver City, New Mexico as part of the 2024 Gila River Celebration.
