Earth Matters / Chris Moeller – Wilderness and Healing

today5 June 2018

This week on Earth Matters, Nathan Newcomer of the New Mexico Wilderness Alliance has a conversation with Chris Moeller of Open Sky Wilderness Therapy, to discuss his experiences as a Program Mentor and Field Guide working to intervene in the lives of at-risk adolescents and young adults.

Open Sky Wilderness Therapy transcends traditional wilderness therapy by delivering an experience greater than the sum of its parts: treatment for the whole family, a powerful and transformative experience, a focus on total health and well-being, and an unyielding belief that everyone has the capacity to thrive.

Chris Moeller has lived in Silver City for the last several years and is pursuing an MSW / Master of Social Work degree.  As part of the requirement for the degree, Chris is currently engaged in an internship at Gila Resources Information Project addressing a variety of projects including leading a series of hikes in the Gila Wilderness and fighting the proposed Holloman F-16 Flyovers.
